Systech, part of Markem-Imaje and Dover, and one of the leaders in digital traceability and serialization, has acquired Pharmacontrol Electronic (PCE), a prominent European pharmaceutical track-and-trace technologies provider.

On the heels of strong growth Systech experienced in 2023, this acquisition enhances Systech’s product offerings and enables it to offer a more comprehensive product portfolio to its customers.

PCE’s track-and-trace technologies are deployed in hundreds of European pharmaceutical packaging lines, all of which will now benefit from Systech’s category-leading innovations.

Furthermore, adding PCE expands Systech’s customer support capabilities and ensures even higher service levels to a broader and more geographically diverse customer base. Systech will leverage PCE’s existing team and operations in Oberlungwitz and Heppenheim, Germany, and base its new European headquarters out of Heppenheim.

This acquisition represents a strategic step in Systech’s global expansion and positions Systech to deliver even higher value to its European customers.

‘We are thrilled to have PCE join us to further our mission of empowering pharmaceutical companies to gain supply chain visibility for regulatory compliance and to combat diversion and counterfeiting,’ said Sreedhar Patnala, general manager of Systech. ‘Our customers will now have an even stronger partner with an expanded portfolio, increased satisfaction, and a promising future.’

Systech’s customers include 16 of the Top 20 pharmaceutical companies, as well as major global brands in medical devices, nutraceuticals and personal care.

Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Princeton, NJ, Systech has deployed its technologies in hundreds of customer sites and thousands of packaging lines, protecting billions of products produced annually.
