A guide to die-cutting label webs to shape and size

Examining the properties of tooling materials and the die-cutting process

Pressure-sensitive labels are printed and converted on a roll-label press that takes a reel of pressure-sensitive material, unwinds it and then prints from multiple print heads.

The printed web may also be foiled, embossed, varnished or otherwise processed or converted before the labels are cut to shape and size, the reel slit into single label webs and re-wound ready for sending to where the labels will eventually be applied.
