Amica Systems launches new Gemini 330-4C UV press

Together with the Gemini 330-4C UV stand-alone label press, Amica also launches a full integrated G330-4CIS CMYK UV inkjet system.

Amica Systems, a manufacturer of industrial inkjet technology, has unveiled a new generation Gemini 330-4C UV stand-alone label press.

The new generation Gemini 330-4C UV stand-alone label press is designed with a full roll to roll drive train and is equipped with an Arc concept creating the required web tension. The Gemini 330-4C comes with a fully automatic purge, wipe and cap functionality for easy operation and delivers print quality up to 600x1,200 DPI. The company’s use of inter-color pinning lamps creates stable and crisp print quality.

This concept offers the market the opportunity to start with digital CMYK label printing on a wide range of substrates. But it also gives the possibility of starting with a print width of 216mm in CMYK and extent this to 330mm print width if needed in the future by just including 4 new print heads.

Together with the Gemini 330-4C stand-alone label press, Amica also launches a full integrated modular system, the Amica G330-4CIS CMYK UV inkjet system. The G330-4IS is designed to be integrated into existing equipment. The integrated Gemini module is fully equipped with its own base module including support rollers for easy integration. The G330-4CIS comes with a fully automatic purge, wipe and cap functionality for easy operation.

All new full color digital label presses are driven by the company’s proprietary NuviPrint software. NuviPrint PDF RIP is professional RIP software designed and developed for industrial inkjet printing applications. NuviPrint offers fast RIP speed, reliable and efficient job printing production and a streamlined workflow. Users can easily obtain smooth gradient, vivid images and sharp small size text with its advanced RIP technology. ICC color management workflow ensures vivid and brilliant colors. We also offer a VDP implementation in the same workflow and Pre-press costing functionality.

The company is offering sample packs containing different materials printed with its Gemini 330-4C and is giving live demonstrations in its Amica Systems UK facility to interested customers. The Gemini 330-4C is ready for live demonstrations together with its other new label press the Scorpio-6C, the latter being a narrow web 6-color UV press for the entry level market segment.

Patrick Citroen, managing director of Amica Systems Europe, said: ‘Amica develops using 100 percent of our own intellectual properties, using the experience of our engineering, support, and technical staff. The only component that we outsource are the printheads of different brands making it possible to offer flexible and very unique inkjet solutions.

‘We have launched our new Gemini 330-4C Label Press for a very specific market segment. Underneath the high segment for label presses there is an untouched market for label presses in the mid-segment and low market segment, offering a label press with low investments but high profits which is a great potential with new opportunities for this market.’

Amica Systems, founded in 1988, has developed into a global player in inkjet technology used across a wide range of applications. Headquartered in the USA, the company employs some 250 people in its two manufacturing facilities in Taipei and Beijing and its European main office in the Netherlands and facilities for sales and support in the UK, Italy and Brazil.
