Amberley Labels receives Label of the Year award

The award recognizes Amberley Labels’ efforts for Hawkridge Gin

Celebrating excellence in packaging design, production, and innovation, the UK Packaging Awards presented the Label of the Year award to Amberley Labels. Amberley was chosen for its work for Hawkridge Gin. Amberley was competing with four other finalists, which included another Amberley Labels entry, a wine label for Gusbourne English Rosé 2022, and a linerless label produced by Coveris for Gressingham Foods.

Hawkridge Gin by Hawkridge Distillers has got its brand identity from its Victorian-inspired recipes through to its packaging. Hawkridge Gin’s labels for its Victorian Botanical Tea Blend and Victorian Floral Botanical Blend were enhanced in a technically challenging embellishment project with Amberley Labels.

Combining metallic embellishment and tactile embossing, the Hawkridge Gin labels feature visual and tactile effects for consumer appeal and product positioning. Amberley’s crafting of Hawkridge Gin’s labels is successful in advancing the designs’ impact.

Phil Howarth, managing director at Hawkridge Distillers said: ‘Our whole team is delighted to win this award. It’s been a labor of love creating the Hawkridge range. We consider a fantastic label, both in design and quality of production as critical to the success of the product. Our designers worked with Amberley Labels to create a masterpiece.’

David Richards, Amberley Labels’ managing director commented: ‘Receiving Label of the Year at the UK Packaging Awards is an amazing achievement. Working with Hawkridge Gin to print their labels enabled us to push boundaries of what could be achieved with our embellishment capabilities and technical expertise. This award is industry recognition that the Amberley Labels team can be very proud of, and we are delighted to share the accomplishment with Hawkridge Gin.’

Amberley Labels also received high commendation in the Label of the Year category for its Gusbourne English Rosé 2022 wine label entry. The combination of visual and tactile embellishments for a modern design produced a label for the above wine that's evocative of summer days.
