Cyngient, an inks, coatings and adhesives supplier, has teamed up with Imageworx, a prepress services trade shop, to offer label and packaging printing converters an all-encompassing resource for their workflow and supply chain needs.

The collaboration takes advantage of the newly renovated Imageworx innovation center in Levittown, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia.

The Imageworx Innovation Center displays the latest flexography innovation, featuring a wide range of equipment from multiple suppliers.

Andrew Wasserman, Cyngient's managing partner, said that the partnership allows label converters to achieve real-life demos that can be easily transferred to their production environment without losing valuable production time.

Wasserman explained that with this partnership, ‘label converters have the ability to achieve real-life demos that can be easily transferred to their production environment without losing valuable production time.’

Jeff Toepfer, president of Imageworx, emphasized that the partnership with Cyngient has been crucial to the company’s success and will continue to advance flexo innovation.

Toepfer said, ‘We have spent the past several years qualifying many industry partners with the goal of creating the ultimate technology center to offer truly innovative prototypes to the industry, and a blueprint for flexographic innovation.’

The innovation center includes a Lombardi Synchroline 430 UV flexo press, a Lombardi Digistar 430 finishing press, a Lehner Flexomatrix mounter, a Kor Engineering LW1-430 and SR2-430 inspection slitters, a Domino K600i LED inkjet industrial printer, an Alphasonics ultrasonic anilox and parts cleaner, a Kocher + Beck Gapmaster, a BST Tubescan, an EasyCut 1500 core cutter and a doctor blade cutter from Berkley Machinery.

Wasserman added that, ‘having the innovation center and prepress experts on-site, together, offers tremendous value for innovation-driven flexo converters looking to differentiate in order to best serve their brand owner customers.’

The two companies initially collaborated in 2018 on a project involving the lamination of a micro-optical lens on flexo-printed PS materials, using a UV adhesive while curing through the lens with die cutting in-line.
