AMF Etiquetas invests in Nilpeter FA-17

AMF Etiquetas of Santiago de Chile has acquired a Nilpeter FA-17 press to increase capacity, cover new markets, and develop more efficient and sustainable products.

AMF Etiquetas is part of the AMF group of companies with more than 70 years of experience in the graphic industry in Chile. The company was founded in 2009 to develop and promote different graphic options for mass consumption labels and packaging.

The latest investment is AMF’s third Nilpeter press, already running an FA-3300 and a MO-4. The new 8-color FA-17 features a solvent flexo unit, two FP-4 units for hot stamping, a silk screen unit, de- and re-lamination, turn bar, lamination unit, die-cutter, and sheeter.

Built around the printing operator, the machine features an intuitive user interface and fully mobile print controls, providing stability, tight register tolerance, and excellent printing results on multiple substrates. The FA-17 features Nilpeter’s lightweight sleeves for reduced setup times, easy handling, increased production speeds, higher printing quality and durability.

‘Our ambition with this investment is to cover new markets and develop more efficient and sustainable products. We are looking to increase our internal capacity by more than 20 percent per month,’ said Juan Ignacio Molina, general manager of AMF Etiquetas.

Like the rest of the world, AMF Etiquetas has felt the severity of the pandemic. The company created a Covid-19 committee to avoid spreading the infection internally while giving its staff the necessary flexibility and support to take care of their families.

‘The business itself was not affected by the pandemic, but we were very detailed and accurate in all our analyses to ensure we made the correct decision with this investment,’ added Molina.
