Coveris welcomes Igor Arbanas to the leadership team

Igor Arbanas assumed the leadership of the Vienna-based Coveris Group's flexible packaging business unit at the beginning of January 2023. He succeeded Christian Kolarik, who became Chief Executive Officer of Coveris.

Arbanas holds degrees in electrical engineering and computer science, as well as post-graduate degrees in electrical and laser engineering. He began his professional career in academic research, including at the Vienna University of Technology before later transitioning to the private sector and taking on various management positions at technology companies such as Tricon Consulting and Trotec Laser. Most recently, Arbanas successfully led the Aluflexpack Group as the CEO for more than nine years.

‘During his tenure as CEO of the Aluflexpack Group, Igor was the driving force behind an impressive transformation. Together with his team, he succeeded in reshaping the company into one of the leaders in Europe in their target markets as well as successfully taking it public on the Zurich Stock Exchange. In addition to his success in business, he also won us over with his personality and leadership style,’ said Coveris CEO Christian Kolarik. ‘For Igor, business success is built on hard work, entrepreneurship at all levels, a customer focus, mutual respect and open collaboration, which aligns with our values.’

‘Finding smart solutions to big challenges has always appealed to me. I am very happy to join a company that is committed to a 'No Waste' sustainability strategy unique to the industry. Coveris is setting a best practice example and a benchmark for the entire industry, and I am looking forward to contributing to the development of the BU Flexibles, the Coveris Group and to the implementation of its strategy together with the whole team,’ Arbanas said.
