Siegwerk is expanding into India with the debut of a new color matching center in Pune.

Ajay Tayde, vice president of flexible packaging at Siegwerk India said: 'This strategic expansion aligns with Siegwerk’s vision of fostering stronger partnerships via localized and customized solutions. Siegwerk is continuously growing in India, and Pune, a burgeoning industrial hub, offers exciting potential.'

The new 12,000sqf center has a total production capacity of 1,200 tons annually, plus 1,350 tons of trading capacity. With skilled labor and new technologies in inks and coatings production, the center is expected to slash delivery times by more than 24 hours.

Tayde added: 'This new facility is a key move for Siegwerk opening new avenues for collaboration, innovation, and growth in the vibrant Indian printing industry. This new color matching center can be leveraged by our customers to achieve their business goals quicker, without compromising on quality.'

The facility will address the needs of Siegwerk's growing customer base in Maharashtra, providing customized shades of inks on faster turnaround notices.

This expansion reflects Siegwerk's strategic aim to fortify its position in the Indian market, where it has been operating since 2006.

Ajit Singh, CFO and business unit head for narrow web, Siegwerk India, said: 'This new facility showcases Siegwerk’s commitment to invest in the Indian growth story and to ensure that we are closer to our customers and also make it easier for our customers to do business with us. As trendsetters in product safety, we have also ensured that the facility is completely toluene-free, mineral oil-free and benzophenone-free.'
