Sihl adds two new facestock film products

Sihl, a specialist in premium coatings, has developed two new facestock film products for its Picofilm series.

Based on sustainable inkjet film (90% post-consumer recycled BOPET), suited to product labels, the 7066, is a white 58 μm facestock PET film with a shiny coating on the front, and 7097, a silver 57 μm facestock PET film.

The seventh product in Sihl’s PCR-based range, key benefits include, fast drying, with high colour brilliance, sharp-edged prints and good water resistance.

The facestock range includes BOPP and PET films in various sizes and colours. Combined with the correct adhesive, they support recycling via mono-packaging or automatic sorting.

The option of dual printing technology helps reduces inventory, as only one product is needed for at least two printing technologies, such as inkjet and laser.

Sihl offers water-based inkjet products with reduced weight. Compared to the corresponding PET or BOPP grades, the total weight is reduced by up to 40%. This can achieve productivity increases of up to 30-50% more labels per roll.
