Heidelberg has upgraded its Speedmaster XL 75 Anicolor press platform with the addition of a perfecting model and UV technology

Visitors to the recent Heidelberg Info Days event at its Wiesloch-Walldorf site in Germany saw an 8-color Speedmaster XL 75 Anicolor perfector and a 5-color Speedmaster XL 75 Anicolor with coating unit and UV technology.

Anicolor technology features a short zoneless inking unit with dampening system, while an engraved screen roller located between the ink chamber blade and the ink form roller ensures an extremely stable inking and thus a quality that is reproducible whenever needed.

Heidelberg said its Anicolor inking unit technology is therefore the ‘ideal solution for standardized printing’.

Heidelberg said these new configurations of the Speedmaster XL 75 Anicolor enhance the position of the technology for cost-effective production of short runs.

The Speedmaster SX 52 Anicolor has been available as a perfecting press since 2008 and as a UV press since 2010.

The Speedmaster XL 75 Anicolor perfector is available for delivery immediately and Heidelberg confirmed that the first presses have already been sold.

One in every four Speedmaster XL 75 machines from Heidelberg is already supplied as a UV press. Consequently, UV technology is also being transferred to the Speedmaster XL 75 Anicolor. In-house trials are currently taking place with high-profile customers during the test phase at the Wiesloch-Walldorf site.

The first deliveries are planned for the end of this year, with target customers being packaging, commercial and specialist printers, with the primary markets for UV being in Europe, the US and Japan, Heidelberg said.
