Avery Dennison launches Pathfinder Edge

New handheld device delivers 50 percent faster print speeds and 25 percent more battery life.

Avery Dennison has launched Pathfinder Edge, a handheld label printer combining scanning, printing and label application in a single device, targeting retail and logistics operators with print speeds up to 50 percent faster and battery life up to 25 percent longer than its predecessor.

The Pathfinder Edge is the first model in a new line of all-in-one mobile devices and connects via NFC, Wi-Fi 6e and Bluetooth. It includes predictive monitoring to flag potential failures before they cause downtime and an interface designed to reduce associate onboarding and training time. Further models with RFID capabilities are planned for release later in 2026, extending the platform into inventory management, freshness tracking and reticketing.

Avery Dennison positions the device for use across parcel logistics, apparel and general retail, and food and grocery, where it says faster print-and-apply capabilities can reduce misrouted shipments, support on-the-spot markdown decisions and help reduce food waste through markdown optimization.

The launch marks the 40th anniversary of the Pathfinder product line.

'Retail and logistics leaders face a difficult landscape as customer expectations grow while labor and margin demands tighten,' said Michael Goller, vice president of digital solutions at Avery Dennison. 'That's why we built Pathfinder Edge: to remove hassle and enable greater efficiency and accuracy.'
