Cyrel ReNew wins FTA award

DuPont flexo plate technology recognized for 50 percent renewable content at Milwaukee event.

DuPont Cyrel Flexographic Solutions has received the Sustainability Excellence Award at the FTA Banquet in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for its Cyrel ReNew flexographic plate technology, which incorporates more than 50 percent ISCC PLUS-certified bio-circular raw materials in the photopolymer.

The first product in the Cyrel ReNew range, Cyrel ReNew LSH, is built on the Cyrel Lightning LED exposure platform and delivers a 15 percent lower product carbon footprint compared with fossil-based plates, equivalent to approximately 83 kg CO2e per box of ten plates. The plate is designed as a drop-in replacement for conventional Cyrel Lightning LSH plates, delivering equivalent print performance without process changes.

'This award underscores our continued leadership in flexographic innovation and our commitment to providing a more sustainable future in the packaging printing industry,' said Tucker Norton, vice president and general manager of DuPont Cyrel Flexographic Solutions.

'The Cyrel ReNew series represents a breakthrough in sustainable platemaking, supporting the transition away from fossil-based raw materials while maintaining the performance standards required for high-quality packaging printing,' noted Serena Stephenson, director of innovation at DuPont Cyrel Flexographic Solutions.
