Konica Minolta hosts TechGirls

The event aims to inspire young women to pursue STEM careers.

Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) has opened its Client Engagement Centre in Houghton Regis to Year 8 students from local schools for its annual TechGirls event, which aims to inspire young women to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and maths.

Building on last year's Ada Lovelace Day celebration, the 2025 event continues Konica Minolta's commitment to increasing female representation in the tech industry. The initiative forms part of the company's broader diversity, equity and inclusion strategy, which includes 2030 targets such as reducing the Gender Pay Gap to zero and achieving gender parity in leadership and recruitment.

This year's program includes a panel talk hosted by TechGirls, featuring senior leaders from Konica Minolta, including Leigh Jolly, change and information security lead; Rachel Lake, field service delivery manager; Kathryn Lloyd, sales account manager; and Holly Clark, a former apprentice recently appointed as financial planning and analyst.

'Events like TechGirls are vital for breaking down barriers and showing young women that there is a place for them in STEM industries,' commented Marta Moreira Rodriguez, Balance Network lead. 'By connecting students with real role models and hands-on experiences, we're helping to shape a more inclusive future for technology.'

Students will tour the Client Engagement Centre, explore STEM careers available in the print and technology sectors and take part in a creative workshop where they'll design posters promoting women in STEM. These will be printed using Konica Minolta's production print devices, and each student will receive a specially embellished chocolate box produced on-site.
