Sihl launches PE film range with AQ inkjet coating
Four-variant portfolio brings aqueous inkjet printing to conformable PE labels for first time.
Sihl has launched a PE film portfolio with aqueous inkjet coating for print-on-demand label production, introducing aqueous inkjet printing to PE films for the first time and targeting PPWR mono-material compliance for PE label on PE container applications.
The portfolio comprises four coating variants: IHG1 Gloss for maximum print appeal, IG1 Satin for an elegant finish, ZM1 Matt BS5609 for water and chemical-resistant outdoor applications, and IM1 Matt Universal for a broad range of indoor uses.
The PE films are designed to conform to curved surfaces and squeezable containers without creasing, with low rigidity making them suited to small labels on narrow-diameter containers where conventional BOPP or PET films would be less effective.
Sihl said the combination of PE label on PE container with print-on-demand inkjet technology supports label manufacturers and brands in meeting PPWR mono-material requirements.
