Xindeco expands VersaTrack RFID family
New tags bring RAIN RFID to cosmetics, jewelry and health and beauty at sub-25mm form factors.
Xindeco IoT has expanded its VersaTrack RAIN RFID tag family with Gen2X support, adding two new tags to the range alongside the existing VersaMini, as demand grows for ultra-small RFID tags capable of reaching product categories where traditional tags have historically struggled to perform.
The VersaTrack family now comprises three tags, all built on Impinj M800-series endpoint ICs with Gen2X support. The VersaMini, measuring 33mm x 13mm, remains the cornerstone of the series and is deployed by global retailer MINISO across more than 8,400 stores for cosmetics, jewelry and accessories. Following a successful rollout in China, MINISO is now expanding VersaMini deployments into Europe, beginning with Germany and Austria.
The VersaMax, at 70mm x 14mm, is designed for high-density stacking and challenging metal and liquid environments. In testing, a handheld reader successfully scanned 300 densely packed, individually labeled handkerchiefs on a metal base plate in 2.9 seconds, and read 40 tightly packed playing cards in just over a second. The VersaNano, at 25mm x 15mm, targets items where even the VersaMini is too large, including lipstick, mascara and micro-accessories. Xindeco's proprietary Trim-Tolerant Technology maximizes antenna gain within the fixed footprint, enabling reliable RF performance at minimal form factor.
Gen2X delivers measurable performance gains over standard Gen2. Testing on approximately 800 health and beauty products showed Gen2X increased the number of items inventoried in ten seconds at a 2-meter read range by more than 70 percent compared with Gen2, while shipment verification accuracy improved from 96.8 percent to 98.6 percent on a tightly packed box of approximately 225 products. Even when VersaMini is positioned just 3mm from a large metal surface, it maintains a read range of over 1.5 meters, delivering more than 50 percent better performance than standard tags.
'Following the launch of VersaMini, its exceptional performance in demanding application scenarios earned significant recognition from our customers, which bolstered our confidence in its potential for expansion,' said Leo Ren, general manager of R&D at Xindeco IoT. 'By offering a comprehensive product portfolio, we can better serve our clients. The VersaNano truly achieves our goal of tagging anything.'
The VersaTrack series is seeing deployment across food and beverage, cosmetics, consumer electronics and pharmaceutical sectors, with growing enterprise interest in extending RFID beyond traditional apparel applications into a broader range of retail and supply chain categories.
