Innovia Films Launches Propafilm CHBM

Innovia Films has launched Propafilm CHBM, an ultra-high barrier metalized BOPP film engineered to deliver high-quality product protection while supporting the transition to more recyclable flexible packaging. 

Developed to meet the growing demand for high-performance mono-material packaging, Propafilm CHBM combines outstanding oxygen and moisture barrier properties with excellent metal adhesion and thermal stability. The film is specifically designed to replace aluminum foil in polypropylene-based laminate structures, enabling brands and converters to achieve premium barrier performance while improving recyclability. 

With its ultra-high oxygen transmission rate (OTR) and water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) barrier performance, Propafilm CHBM provides superior protection for oxygen- and moisture-sensitive products, helping preserve freshness, aroma, flavor, and product quality throughout the supply chain. 

Available in an 18 microns (0.72 mil) gauge, Propafilm CHBM features ultra-high oxygen and moisture barrier performance, a polypropylene alternative to aluminum foil, aroma and flavor protection, enhanced metal adhesion for robust converting performance and high optical density. It also offers reverse-side treatment suitable for lamination or surface printing, thermal stability and is designed to support recyclable mono-material PP packaging structures. 

Propafilm CHBM is ideally suited for a wide range of demanding flexible packaging applications, including high-barrier food packaging, mono-material laminate structures, stand-up and flat pouches, applications requiring aluminum foil replacement and packaging requiring superior oxygen and moisture protection
