AJS Labels wins BPIF award

AJS Labels, a Sussex, UK-based self-adhesive label converter, has won the BPIF (British Printing Industries Federation) 2011 Company of the Year Award.

The BPIF Excellence Awards were revamped this year to reward and showcase the most innovative and creative companies across the print media spectrum. The awards categories ranged from Human Resources, to the Environment, Health and Safety, Lean Manufacturing, Training and Development and Innovation with the overall award going to the outstanding Company of the Year.

Husband and wife co-directors Andrew and Jayne Scrimgeour received the top award at a ceremony in London. ‘It is a great honor to have won this,’ said Andrew Scrimgeour. ‘The BPIF is one of the UK's leading trade associations, supporting the print and packaging industries which form part of the UK’s largest manufacturing sector, so we are thrilled to have all the hard work and dedication of everyone at the company acknowledged in this way.’

The judging panel said it was impressed by the comapany’s‘simple back to basics approach to reconnect with customers and engage staff to deliver a service focused on continual improvement’.
