Alex Mulvenny of Labelgraphics awarded MBE from Queen of England

Labelgraphics announced Alex Mulvenny, founder and chairman, is honored with an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honors List. Mr Mulvenny has given outstanding service to the printing industry for more than 55 years and used his success to help revitalise and inspire business and community life in a deprived area of the city of Glasgow in Scotland.
His exceptional contribution is based on an unswerving commitment to the highest possible ethical standards in the management and operation of his business and his integrity has become almost legendary in the industry. He has exhibited an equally determined commitment to training and development, not only of his own staff, but for personnel in the printing industry in general and his company has from the start made the most of the benefits of IT to lead in setting new industry standards of excellence in customer service.
This approach has led to the award winning success of Labelgraphics which Mulvenny founded 23 years. It has also earned him admiration and respect throughout the printing industry, from suppliers, colleagues and competitors, nationally and internationally, to customers and his own staff.
His philosophy throughout has been to put something back for his employees, the industry and the local community, and this he has consistently endeavoured to do through both his business and personal life.
Working closely with Scottish Enterprise and other voluntary, business and educational bodies, Mr Mulvenny has made, and continues to make, a significant contribution to the business and social regeneration not only of Clydebank, but also the wider Glasgow community.
He is regarded as an example of the best combination of entrepreneurial spirit and constructive social commitment. The honor was a real surprise for Mulvenny and he is ‘delighted with the award’.
