Bunting streamlines supply of flexible dies

Bunting Magnetics, a producer of precision magnetic products for the worldwide printing, automobile, plastics, food and electronics industries, has announced dramatic changes in how it supplies flexible dies to label manufacturers.

The changes are the result of extensive market research into the evolving label die-cutting requirements.

The research indicated that a number of factors necessitate changing the way suppliers interact with and respond to label converters. As such, Bunting now sells its flexible dies via myflexdies.com, an online ordering system. After entering their equipment once into myflexdies.com, converters can obtain instant quotes on standard die shapes, easily turn quotes into orders, and gain 24/7 access to historical quotes and orders.

Bunting is also now using a quality production system featuring the Esko ArtiosCAD software, which reduces die order turnaround time and improves die accuracy.

Further, the Bunting line of X-treme magnetic cylinders has been expanded. The new HT cylinder features a two-micron tolerance, designed specifically for thin liners.  A new spiral cylinder meets the demands of popular semi-rotary die cutters.

Announcing the changes, Bunting Printing Group product manager Michael Wilks said: ‘The recent rollout of myflexdies.com—the Bunting order system—has been met with acclaim throughout the industry for ease of use and convenience.

‘Although flexographic converters have historically relied on field sales personnel to assist them in placing orders for dies, the simplicity of myflexdies.com and the quick turnaround now demanded by label customers makes online entry the preferred method for ordering flexible dies.

‘Technology is changing the way we all do business and Bunting is listening carefully to ensure our customers’ success.’
