Domino launches Ax560i CIJ printer

Domino Printing Sciences has launched the Ax560i CIJ printer, the latest addition to its 'x-generation' coding and marking portfolio, built to help manufacturers maintain productivity despite labor shortages and unplanned downtime.

Manufacturers face growing pressure from labor shortages and frequent operator turnover, alongside the cost of unexpected downtime that can disrupt production schedules. Building on the Ax-Series platform, the Ax560i adds predictive maintenance capabilities and intelligent print quality management tools, and is designed for ease of use to deliver consistent operation regardless of who is on shift.

Built around three principles, predict, prevent and perform, the Ax560i is designed to help manufacturers anticipate maintenance needs, prevent coding errors and deliver consistent performance across every shift. Predictive maintenance features include integrated component-level monitoring, predictive cleaning guidance, cloud dashboards for real-time insight into printer health, and remote accessibility to support faster issue resolution without on-site visits, working alongside Domino's SafeGuard service offering.

To prevent coding and labeling errors, the printer includes an advanced CleanAssist cleaning system, nozzle face sealing technology for reliable start-ups after planned shutdowns, and an integrated air-drying system to protect the printhead in moist or damp conditions. It can also be paired with Domino Designer for centralized message management, or with Domino's coding automation and vision systems as part of a fully integrated setup.

For operators, the printer features a redesigned printhead to simplify maintenance, the CleanAssist function to reduce solvent exposure and consumables usage, the QuickStep 3 interface, and new operator wizards for guided support. It also supports smart factory integration through Ethernet/IP and OPC-UA protocols, and Domino's Dynamark protocol for consistent coding across multiple lines and sites.
