Bernard Pinatel, the former chief executive officer of Bostik, has been appointed as a member of Arkema’s executive committee

Pinatel will succeed Pierre Chanoine who is retiring from Arkema’s executive committee.

The appointment of Pinatel closely follows the completion of Arkema’s acquisition of Bostik, which now constitutes a new business unit, specialty adhesives, within its high performance materials segment.

Pinatel began his career at Booz Allen & Hamilton, later joining the Total Group in 1991, where he held a number of operational positions in plants and at the headquarters of various subsidiaries, including Hutchinson and Coates Lorilleux.

He subsequently served as CEO for France and CEO for Europe at Bostik from 2000 to 2006, and later as chairman and CEO of Cray Valley from 2006 to 2009.

In 2010 he returned to Bostik as chairman and CEO. He was member of management committed at Total, Bostik’s former owner, from 2011.

Pinatel now heads the high performance materials segment of Arkema and remains managing director of Bostik.

Arkema’s executive committee is now made up of: chairman and CEO Thierry Le Hénaff; Pinatel; Marc Schuller, who is head of the industrial specialties and coating solutions segments; Luc Benoit-Cattin, vice president of industry; Bernard Boyer, vice president of strategy; Michel Delaborde, vice president of human resources and communication; and Thierry Lemonnier vice president of finance.
