IST Metz refreshes management team

This has seen Christian-Marius Metz, grandson of company founder Gerhard Metz and previous head of operations and services, named as the new CEO. He is joined by Holger Kühn, previously head of sales, who has been promoted to the position of sales managing director, and Dr Robert Sänger, formerly head of development at subsidiary eta plus electronic GmbH, as technology managing director.

Dirk Jägers, the previous managing director of IST Metz, has left the company.

IST Metz said the UV market is changing, and that, besides traditional UV lamps, in recent years the curing of inks and varnishes by means of UV LEDs has been established. IST Metz has expanded its LED business this year through product launches and the acquisition of the majority interest in the British UV systems manufacturer Integration Technology Ltd. It is this greater focus on technological development that has necessitated the refresh of its management team.

‘We are looking forward to running the company in the spirit of my grandfather,’ said Metz. ‘We are leading in the industry in terms of know-how in UV technology, and we will know how to make the most of it.’
