Artwork Systems, a workflow partner for Punch Graphix, is taking part in a series of one-day open house events for the label and packaging markets, which are being hosted in the UK, Belgium, Denmark and Austria during the summer.  The events will centre around the Xeikon 330 engine and opportunities for end users in the label printing sector to combine this technology with partner products on show.

Artwork Systems formed an alliance with Punch Graphix during 2006 with the aim of supporting its front-end digital printing systems, in order to provide a complete solution for the process of label production. Odystar Pack, one of the key products from Artwork Systems for this area, is a workflow that uses PDF and Certified PDF as its native file format and JDF as its preferred job ticket format for both internal and external workflow communication.

The company said in a statement: ‘Through the Odystar Client, a user can choose from a wide range of workflow modules representing various pre-production tasks. By stringing together different pre-press functions the logical order of the workflow can be defined easily. All the internal processes of the Odystar system are executed as PDF files, ensuring that the file integrity is retained throughout the workflow.’

Artwork Systems will be demonstrating its Odystar Pack software, along with other PDF solutions such as the NEO editing package, at the Punch Graphix events. The first open house, for the Benelux region, will take place at the Punch Graphix headquarters in Lier (Belgium) on June 6. This will be followed by an open house for the Nordic region, held in Birkerod (Denmark) on June 12 and one for the UK and Eire on June 20, which will take place in Willenhall (UK). The final event will occur in Kitzbuhel (Austria) on June 27.
