Finat has opened submissions for its 2026 Sustainability Awards, accepting entries across three categories covering reduction of environmental impact, optimization of recycling and renewable materials, with a deadline of June 26, 2026, at 17:00 CET.

Originally launched in 2014 as the Recycling Awards to recognize efforts in paper and film release liner recycling, the competition was renamed the Finat Sustainability Awards in 2021 and has been held biannually since 2022. The 2024 edition received a record 28 entries spanning the full label value chain, covering adhesive formulations, release coatings, metallization technologies, printing inks, manufacturing and printing equipment, labelestock, recycling methodologies and specific packaging technologies.

The competition is open to all Finat members, including converters, suppliers and affiliated members, with collaborations between multiple partners eligible, provided at least one Finat member is involved. Entries can cover physical products including labels, inks and adhesives, equipment, processes and services across all label and decoration formats, including self-adhesive, sleeves, wraparound, IML and wet-glue. Both commercial products launched in the last three years and pre-commercial innovations are eligible.

Shortlisted entries will be announced in October 2026, with the award ceremony taking place at the Sustainable Packaging Summit in Utrecht, the Netherlands in November. Shortlisted entrants receive a complimentary entry to the event on the day of the ceremony.

Full submission details are available on the dedicated Finat website.
