HP gears up for Loupe India 2026
The company will introduce the HP Indigo 6K+ to highlight the growing shift in India from traditional to digital printing.
HP has confirmed it will introduce HP Indigo 6K+ at Loupe India 2026, scheduled for October 29–November 01, 2026, at India Expo Center & Mart in Greater Noida, Delhi-NCR. Built on the established HP Indigo 6K platform, the new press is designed to address the evolving needs of label converters seeking greater productivity, operational reliability, and flexibility in an increasingly competitive market.
The Indian printing and packaging landscape is undergoing a fundamental transformation as Print Service Providers (PSPs) and converters accelerate their shift from traditional analog methods—such as flexography, gravure, and offset—to advanced digital printing platforms. According to Pawan Chauhan, country business manager, Industrial and Inkjet Business Solutions, HP India, this evolution is driven by two powerful forces. While converters are discovering that digital technology enables a revolutionary business model built around agile, profitable short runs and reduced inventory, ‘the stronger catalyst is the transformation happening at the brand level.’

Driven by India’s booming direct-to-consumer (D2C) ecosystem, regional startups, premium FMCG players and nutraceutical companies, brand requirements have drastically shifted. These businesses operate on compressed product cycles, frequent promotions and rapid launch schedules that demand high agility. As Chauhan noted: ‘Traditional flexo and gravure processes remain well suited for long runs, while digital is designed for agility and responsiveness.’ Rather than competing purely on commodity volumes, forward-thinking converters are successfully scaling by adopting hybrid production models where analog and digital systems complement each other to manage shorter runs, regional language variations and zero minimum order quantities (MOQs).
This digital momentum is rapidly expanding beyond traditional metropolitan converting hubs like Mumbai, Delhi NCR and Bengaluru into tier-2 and tier-3 markets, including Indore, Ludhiana, Coimbatore and Jaipur. Platforms like the HP Indigo 6K+ are enabling commercial printers and entrepreneurial packaging businesses to tap into India's emerging brand explosion. This technology allows brands to eliminate rigid supply chains and heavy inventory costs, enabling them to ‘print exactly what they need, launch products in days rather than weeks, and avoid the economic barriers created by plates, cylinders and minimum order quantities.’ Sectors ranging from pharmaceuticals and beauty to craft beverages and luxury foods are leveraging this flexibility to handle complex demands, from serialization and multilingual compliance to limited-edition packaging.
Beyond operational agility, sustainability has become a key driver of digital adoption. Conventional analog production often requires extensive setup materials, plates, cylinders and lengthy make-ready processes, generating significant waste. In contrast, digital architectures let converters manufacture closer to actual demand, eliminating media waste, overproduction and inventory obsolescence. Furthermore, platforms like HP Indigo support recyclable, linerless, wash-off and compostable media, helping brands align with strict environmental objectives. As Chauhan observed: ‘These operational and ecological efficiencies are increasingly vital to procurement decisions, supported by initiatives like the HP Sustainability Amplifier program.’
He further added: ‘Looking ahead, digital printing in India is evolving far beyond simple short-run efficiency. Indian brands increasingly use advanced digital capabilities – such as Variable Data Printing (VDP), invisible security inks, QR codes, and NFC-enabled interactions – to strengthen brand protection, traceability and consumer engagement. While challenges such as customer education, access to capital and the need to shift from long-run to on-demand manufacturing still exist, demand has never been stronger. As the market matures, digital printing is firmly establishing itself as the preferred choice for a dynamic and fast-evolving Indian packaging industry.’
