Masterpress shortlisted in two categories at Labels & Labeling Global Awards

Polish converter recognized for sustainability innovation and industry leadership.

Masterpress has been shortlisted among the top three converters in both the Sustainability and Converter of the Year categories at the inaugural Labels & Labeling Global Awards, announced during Labelexpo Europe in Barcelona.

The European provider of printed decorative packaging received its sustainability nomination for developing magnetizable inks for shrink sleeve applications in collaboration with Magnomer, enabling improved separation of printed substrates in PET-on-PET shrink sleeves where bottles and labels share identical materials and density.

The magnetic coating layer remains adhered to the shrink sleeve label throughout recycling, allowing magnets to extract label flakes and leave clean PET bottle flakes ready for reuse, significantly enhancing recycling efficiency and supporting circular economy advancement.

'Masterpress has emerged as one of Poland's most dynamic label converters and a true innovation leader in the European market. From developing magnetizable inks with Siegwerk to enable better recycling, to substrate downgauging with Taghleef, and even pioneering conductive inks for RFID antennae, Masterpress continues to push the boundaries of what's possible in our industry,' commented Andrew Thomas-Emans, strategic director at Informa Markets, organizer of the awards.

The Converter of the Year category recognizes companies demonstrating commitment to diverse workforces, training programs, charitable initiatives and innovative product development.

'We are incredibly proud to be among the top three converters and sustainability leaders in the industry and want to congratulate Bio4Life and OPM Group for winning this year's awards,' noted Gabriel Magdaleno, strategic product development and marketing director at Masterpress.
