Body Shop labels get an extra dimension

UK-based label printer Harlands Labels has created a range of labels for The Body Shop.
The wrap labels have been produced to incorporate a five page peel and read label to provide a premium quality decorative and extremely functional product, improving The Body Shop’s stock turn and distribution flexibility to its many global markets.
The wrap labels are combination printed in eight colors plus a special scuff resistant varnish to maintain brand integrity during transportation, with the quad peel labels printed in four colors plus special varnish. The two labels are produced separately and then brought together using Harlands patented Parralax machine, which can apply one label to another at high speed with a positional tolerance of less than 1mm.
As a global company, The Body Shop distributes stock to over 2,000 stores throughout the world, and must provide ingredient listings and usage instructions printed in a many languages.
Harlands developed this innovation for The Body Shop International plc in order to help reduce the number of language variants for certain products from three or more to one or two. The new label has reportedly provided overall cost savings due to improved inventory management.
Steve Barber, head of packaging development for The Body Shop International plc said, ‘This is a great development for us as it provides great inventory flexibility, overall cost savings and a continued masstige look for the brand.’
Ian Davis, area sales manager for Harlands, commented: ‘These labels are the perfect way for customers selling on an international platform to comply with regulations, save money and increase efficiency in one go.’
Harlands Labels, based in Hull, is one of the UK’s leading producers of printed self adhesive labeling solutions.
