Rachna orders Wanjie press at Labelexpo Asia

India-based converter orders a 6-color intermittent offset machine for packaging expansion.

Rachna Print & Pack has ordered the Wanjie Advance 350, a 6-color intermittent offset printing press with a flexo unit, rotary die-cutting, cold foil on movable and turn bar, and automatic remote ink control using CIP3 software, extending its nine-year partnership with Wanjie India.

The investment reflects the company's intention to increase capacity, expand beyond its textile-based workload and boost its position in the packaging and label sector. The partnership began nine years ago when the company purchased its first four-color press from Wanjie, one of the first installations of its kind in India.

'We have nine years of experience with Wanjie. They provided our first four-color machine, the first of its kind in the country. When you see a team's progress over time, it's natural to choose them again,' commented Bipinchandra Patel, owner of Rachna Print & Pack.

Before deciding on the Wanjie Advance 350, the company considered three to four Indian brands. 'We considered other options, but the trust we built with Wanjie over time mattered most,' added Patel.

The company has traditionally catered to the textile industry, but the new press expands its reach. Rachna Print & Pack can now accept commercial printing assignments thanks to the 6-color offset setup accompanied by a flexo unit and rotary die-cutting.

'Our work has always been focused on textiles. After we install this machine, we will be able to handle commercial jobs,' noted Patel. 'We will print under automatic control with no manual reliance.'

The company forecasts a 50 percent increase in manufacturing capacity and a significant improvement in print quality. The Wanjie Advance 350 combines offset, flexo, die-cutting and cold foil in a single line, reducing handling and improving turnaround time.
