Creazy grows web-to-print market with ROI360 software

UK-based business Creazy has seen growth in personalized web-to-print prospects after deploying ROI360’s Storefront design software for short-run packaging jobs.
Creazy manufactures a range of generic, unprinted and pre-creased sheets ready for conversion into packaging items including wine boxes, and had found the obstacle to growing its business was the cost of artwork origination for complex 3D products.
All of its products start as pre-creased sheets, which can be printed using a suitable SRA3 digital printer. A list of digital printers around the UK that supply printed Creazy products can be found on its website, and includes: Border Offset Printers in Cumbria, Creative Packaging in Bridgend and Alphagraphics NI in Belfast.
Creazy found ROI360’s professional service division offered the best solution with its Storefront software, offering the flexibility and functionality Creazy needed for its end user clients to produce their own artwork via a new web site: www.eazydesigner.com. This generic shop front allows anyone to log-on and create artwork without limitations, and ROI360’s developers were able to adapt the existing software to match Creazy’s specific needs.
'We have picked up business from the UK and Europe primarily because [the website] has made artwork production so much easier'
Storefront uses intelligent “Flex” templates so that text, logos and images can be imported, and users can even select their own corporate colors using CMYK. Once a customer has prepared the artwork, Storefront sends it direct to the printer via emailed job tickets.
The result has been a boost in Creazy’s sales, with new business coming from the UK and mainland Europe, primarily because artwork production is so much easier, and being fully automatic, it is more cost-effective. Sales and distribution now extend into 16 countries, with over 1,200 users
New business opportunities for Creazy include B2B and, for the first time, B2C. An example is the new online personalized wine box business created using Storefront software. This allows anyone to produce one-off wine boxes for a special occasion such as a corporate event or a birthday or anniversary.
Lyndon Powell, Creazy managing director, said: ‘Creazy’s innovative packaging products make it possible for anyone to produce packaging items, however, producing the artwork for these complicated 3d products was difficult, time-consuming and costly. Creazy was looking for a way to increase sales of our preformed products but were being told by end clients that the cost of commissioning artwork for these short-run items was prohibitive. Creazy needed to find a way of simplifying this process, deskilling the artwork creation stage and making it possible for non-designers to produce brand controlled, high impact packaging.
'Creazy wanted a bespoke web-to-print design package that would fit our existing templates so our end clients could easily create the artwork on-line. This would reduce artwork complexities and ultimately provide benefits to us of increased sales of the preformed items by simplifying the whole process.
‘Creazy’s partnership with ROI360 is an ongoing relationship. [Its] willingness to create bespoke elements and to develop our ideas has enabled us to structure our business in a completely new way giving us vital business differentiation from our competitors.’
Powell added: ‘Creazy has seen sales and distribution of our pre-formed products increase significantly. We have picked up business from the UK and Europe primarily because [the website] has made artwork production so much easier. What’s more, because everything is fully automated customers are able to make these packaging items cost effectively, something which was not possible before.’
