Glossop Cartons enjoys year of awards success

Derbyshire-based Glossop Cartons is celebrating a year of award-winning success having secured a total of four industry and business accolades in the last 12 months.

The Packaging Superheroes marketing campaign has worked well for Glossop Cartons

Glossop Cartons was one of the first companies in the world to invest in the Highcon Euclid digital cutting and creasing system for folding carton production. It has also made a number of other technological investments, including purchasing a Fujifilm Acuity LED 1600 UV LED inkjet printer.

The company’s commitment to continually investing in new technology and driving forward new innovations to improve efficiency and customer service has ensured it has stayed ahead of its competitors despite the recession and, in turn, has helped it win a number of awards.

In January 2013, Glossop Cartons became the world’s first carton converter to commission, and the UK’s first to install, the Highcon Euclid. This led to the company picking up a Derbyshire BEST award for Marketing Campaign of the Year after implementing a series of impactful marketing campaigns and the creation of its successful Packaging Superheroes.

In 2014, Glossop Cartons sales director Jacky Sidebottom-Every received the coveted Outstanding Contribution to Business Award within the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce (DNCC) Enterprising Women Awards. The DNCC judges commended Jacky Sidebottom-Every’s commitment to innovation and her determination to drive the company forward by investing in ground-breaking technologies.

The DNCC award was swiftly followed by the company scooping up the Manufacturing Technology Award at this year’s North West Business Insider Made in the North West Awards, and in May it was awarded a WorldStar Packaging Award for its efforts to achieve excellent global packaging standards and in particular its Elegant Wine Box design, which was created in-house and manufactured on the Highcon Euclid.

Glossop Cartons was also shortlisted in the 2013 Manchester Evening News Business of the Year awards program, where the business was highly commended, and for the PrintWeek SME of the Year award. Glossop Cartons is now awaiting the outcome of the Made in the UK awards in June, taking place in Liverpool, and the Derby Telegraph Business Awards, where the company has been shortlisted for a sales and marketing accolade.

Jacky Sidebottom-Every said: ‘It certainly has been a busy year on the awards front for Glossop Cartons and I’m absolutely thrilled that the business has been recognized for a number of accolades from a broad spectrum of category areas from esteemed industry titles to respected regional business and technology awards.’
