German printing equipment manufacturer Koenig & Bauer (KBA) has reiterated its intent to focus on key segments of the print industry

KBA has already made clear its move to focus on areas that it has identified as offering the best potential for growth, as well as introducing the Fit@All program, but has reiterated its intent to push ahead with new market orientation more actively while enhancing and optimizing core businesses. As a result, KBA will focus more on digital printing, packaging printing, flexographic and specialty printing, among others, going forward.

This statement of intent was made in announcing a double appointment in Asia to drive growth in the region. This has seen Joseph Kwan named as general manager of KBA Taiwan and Eric Wong joining from manroland to lead KBA (HK).

Greater China is KBA’s single largest market, and the company said: ‘It is without a doubt that this project will bring more innovative ideas to China’s printing enterprises and help provide better products and services.’
