Konica Minolta India supports mid-day meal program
Konica Minolta supports six electric vehicles helping strengthen sustainable logistics for community nutrition programs across multiple locations in India.
Konica Minolta Business Solutions India has expanded its Neev and Urja CSR initiative by deploying its sixth electric vehicle in partnership with The Akshaya Patra Foundation. Following a successful launch in Hyderabad earlier this year, the new EV in Delhi will ensure the sustainable delivery of nutritious mid-day meals to nearly 3,000 government school students across both cities.
Over the past three years, the program has cumulatively supported nearly 6,800 students across five cities—Varanasi, Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Hyderabad and Delhi, further strengthening the company's commitment to child welfare, community development, and environmental sustainability.
The expansion builds on Konica Minolta's long-standing CSR commitment through its Neev and Urja programs, which together promote children's well-being while advancing sustainable community development. While Neev supports access to nutritious mid-day meals that contribute to children's health, learning, and continued education, Urja complements the program by enabling cleaner and more sustainable meal distribution through electric mobility. With the addition of the Delhi vehicle, Konica Minolta has now supported six electric vehicles over the past three years, helping strengthen sustainable logistics for community nutrition programs across multiple locations in India.
Katsuhisa Asari, managing director, Konica Minolta Business Solutions India, said, ‘At Konica Minolta, we believe that sustainable progress is achieved by creating value for both society and the environment. Through our Neev and Urja CSR programs, we are committed to improving children's access to nutrition while promoting cleaner and more sustainable ways of serving communities. Every meal delivered through clean mobility is an opportunity to nurture healthier young minds and contribute to a more resilient future. As we continue to expand these programs, we remain focused on building meaningful partnerships that create long-term social value and support inclusive, sustainable community development.’
Nutritious mid-day meal programs play a vital role in encouraging school attendance while supporting children's health, learning, and overall development. By integrating electric mobility into the meal delivery ecosystem, Konica Minolta is helping reduce the environmental footprint of daily operations while improving the efficiency and reliability of meal distribution. The program demonstrates how social responsibility and sustainability can work together to create meaningful, long-term impact for communities.
