Falconer cuts costs with Polar guillotine

- To be used to halve and quarter sheet stock in various formats
- Follows installation of UK’s first Heidelberg Diana X folder gluer with Braille unit
Falconer Printing & Packaging has invested in a Polar 115 guillotine to prepare boards for production, and a stack lift to reduce the physical effort of moving heavy stock onto the guillotine feed table.
‘We will use it to halve and quarter sheet stock,’ said Hadyn Bradbury, managing director of Falconer.
'The format makes it very flexible and the machine is robust enough to handle a wide range of boards, which allays any health and safety fears.’
The investment follows the installation earlier this year of the UK’s first Diana X folder gluer fitted with a Braille unit for pharmaceutical packaging work.
Falconer Print and Packaging also produces cartons for the healthcare, cosmetic and giftware market sectors.
