Sheeter to reduce lead times at CRP Print & Packaging

European print and packaging group CRP Print & Packaging has invested in an Apollo FK sheeter from international sheeting and finishing equipment manufacturer MarquipWardUnited.
Together with a fast order processing set-up, CRP Print & Packaging said the Apollo FK sheeter allows for greater production flexibility, with local sheeting fed direct from roll stock. Delivering a cut sheet/squareness accuracy of ±0.5mm, materials can be sheeted up to a 1,650 x 2,000mm size. The sheeter is also fitted with a sensitive materials package to enable careful handling of specialist paper. A low maintenance requirement, combined with a state-of-the-art dust and waste extraction system and a remote dial-in diagnostic facility, complete the package.
CRP Print & Packaging purchased a £3.5m KBA litho press in 2010 and, combined, it said the two will allow it to reinvent lead times for litho packaging.
CRP’s litho packaging segment designs and manufactures high-quality, litho printed shelf-ready packaging and offers structural design expertise from its high-tech, purpose built manufacturing site in Corby, UK.
The Apollo FK sheeter from MarquipWardUnited will be installed at the Corby site in April.
‘As with all our investments they need to make a step change for our customers and the broader market,’ said Tom Lindop, operations director at CRP Print & Packaging.
‘We have already reinvented the lead times for litho packaging and displays within the UK market and this investment will allow us once again to push on and reduce lead times yet further.’
