Swedish firm invests in Kluge folder gluer
- ComFold to address growing need for folding and gluing

- Demo machine shown at Drupa converting double walled boxes

Specialty packaging converter Ranhammar has purchased the Kluge International demonstration folder gluer shown at Drupa 2012 as it looks to satisfy the growing requirement for such finishing capabilities from its customers.

The Kluge ComFold folder gluer system (pictured, top) is a compact, modular system suitable for applications including pocket folders, CD/DVD wallets, direct mail and various types of specialty packaging.

The ComFold was shown folding and gluing a double walled box during Drupa, and then sold to Ranhammar.

Versatile capability
Thomas Andersen, international sales director at Kluge International, said: ‘We have been working with Ranhammar for some time on its need for a versatile folder gluer that will give it the in-house capability of converting such versatile jobs as boxes, including straight-line and auto-lock, wallets and presentation folders.

‘Kluge is very proud that a growing company such as Ranhammar has decided to install our ComFold folder gluer.

‘This machine will give it the versatility it is looking for, while at the same time, the modular design means the configuration can easily be changed to meet any future needs it may have.

‘The ComFold is the perfect folding and gluing solution for companies who need to convert a versatile range of short-run jobs.’

Growing need
Ranhammar co-owner Lennart Jernfast said: ‘We bought the Kluge ComFold to address our growing need for folding and gluing.

‘We have a variety of different short-run jobs from our customers and chose the ComFold for its flexibility and short set-up time, which is more important than speed with our run lengths of between 5000 and 200 000 pieces per job.’
