ABG launches ThermoLam flex pack laminator

New thermal laminator delivers zero VOC emissions at speeds of up to 120 m/min.

ABG has launched ThermoLam, a thermal laminator for flexible packaging production that operates with zero VOC emissions and combines pre-heating, cooling, corona treatment and slitting within a single compact platform.

The system runs at speeds of up to 120 m/min with no curing time required, enabling faster production cycles and reduced waste. Its modular design integrates with ABG's broader FlexPack range, including Galaxy pouch-making systems and PouchJet digital embellishment technology, supporting a connected production workflow.

Advanced servo control technology from Beckhoff provides precision throughout the lamination process, while in-line cutting reduces handling and streamlines job changeovers for shorter run lengths.

The system is food-safe, CE-compliant and manufactured with European-sourced components.

'ThermoLam represents a significant step forward in how converters approach lamination within flexible packaging,' said Matt Burton, global sales director at ABG. 'By combining performance, sustainability and ease of use in a compact, modular system, we are enabling customers to move faster, reduce waste and adapt to changing market demands.'

ABG's Girona facility is being established as a Centre of Excellence for flexible packaging, where customers can run test jobs and experience ThermoLam within a full production workflow. ThermoLam will also be showcased at Interpack 2026.
