IMS Technologies and Laem System form strategic alliance

The management of IMS Technologies with the team from Laem System

IMS Technologies and Laem System have entered into a strategic alliance that will see Goebel IMS’ product portfolio enhanced.

IMS Technologies focuses on the design and manufacturing of slitting and winding machines, which are marketed under the Goebel IMS brand. Laem System, based in Casale Monferrato, Italy, specializes in the manufacture of machines for the converting and flexible packaging industries. Its machines include twin-shaft machines and compact slitter rewinders, as well as high automation machinery required for the processing of diverse materials such as paper, film, flexible packaging materials and coated materials.

The portfolio from Laem System of slitting and special machinery – especially the twin-shaft and high productivity turret machines – are said to perfectly complement the existing machine program of Goebel IMS. Customers will be able to purchase an expanded machine portfolio for primary, secondary and converting industries as well as industrial automation systems from one source. The cooperation between the two companies applies to Europe and international markets, and includes research and development, production and the sharing of distribution channels.

Daniele Vaglietti, CEO at IMS Technologies, said: ‘We will bundle our strengths and offer them to an expanded international customer base in form of attractive package solutions.’

Laem System CEO Davide Malki added: ‘We are confident that with this partnership we shall be able to finally exploit our full potential, while improving further our technology, expanding our product range, increasing the efficiency of our operations in Casale, and upgrading our service level for our existing and future customers. With a strategic partner like IMS Technologies we gain the resources necessary to meet the demand of shorter innovation cycles and the desire for automation in processing of web-based materials.’

The strategic alliance is the beginning of a process in which the partners exchange their know-how and realize projects together. Further cooperation and later integration of Laem System into IMS Technologies Group will also be subject of the alliance.
