Zanders to implement further price increases

Paper producer Zanders will increase the prices for all deliveries from January 1, 2019.

Zanders to implement further price increases, effective January 1, 2019

The amount of the price increase will be individually discussed depending on the individual product, the respective market and customer. The Zanders sales team will be in contact with their customers to provide them with details about the new pricing.

Zanders sales director John Tucker said: ‘Prices for chemicals, energy and pulp have seemingly stabilized, but remain at an historical all-time high. The cost explosion that has happened over the past one and a half years was not fully covered by previous price increases, and the buying market is still in a very tight situation for certain critical ingredients.’

Zanders is nearing the completion of insolvency proceedings, which has included the sale of its site in Germany to the city of Bergisch Gladbach. The company's operations continue as normal through this process.

Tucker said: ‘As we near the conclusion of the investor process, the price increase is also part of the strategic considerations for 2019 to ensure a sustainable future for the company.’
