Amberley Labels invests in Edale FL3 with AiiR

UK printer Amberley Labels has invested in an 8-color Edale FL3 with AiiR print automation pack.

Amberley Labels' Edale FL3 features AiiR

Based in Dorset UK, Amberley Labels has established a reputation as one of the UK’s premier label production companies and developed packaging for an extensive range of sectors including cosmetics, personal care, healthcare, beverage and specialist food markets. It recently added folding cartons to its offering via a partnership.

Its new Edale FL3 features AiiR print automation, as well as advanced registration, semi-rotary die-cutting, and a peel and reveal module. AiiR (autonomous inking, impression and print registration) uses precision camera technology to improve registration accuracy, while automated print pressure control reduces wastage and set-up times. By fully automating print and the registration processes, the level of operator intervention can be reduced, leading to fewer errors and a more consistent, higher quality final product. Automated finishing with semi-rotary die-cutting further reduces set-up times and waste, while reducing tooling cost and reliance on the operator.

Amberley Labels managing director Trevor Smith said: ‘Edale offers the best combination of suitable technology, a knowledgeable team and synergy with our requirements. We plan to produce multi-colour labels on specialist materials, such as multi-layer material labels. Using Edale technology, we are able to replace two of our existing presses with one. This is due to a much quicker set-up time, less material waste, higher running speeds, and the ability to produce a range of speciality labels including peel and reveal.’

Louise Bailey, account manager at Edale, said: ‘Here at Edale, we pride ourselves in developing advanced automation technology. We are delighted to be working with Amberley; it’s great to support a local business with modern printing requirements.’
