Belgian printer doubles digital capacity

Belgium’s Label'Or has expanded its digital production capacity by installing a second Xeikon 3300 press.

Pascal Peters (left) and his father Jean-Marie Peters have moved Label'Or into the world of digital label printing, and recently purchased a second Xeikon 3300

Label’Or, located in Lontzen in the province of Liège, was established in 1977 and initially specialized in flexo and letterpress printing for self-adhesive labels.

The company is managed today by founder Jean-Marie Peters and his son Pascal, and in 2008 made its first investment into digital with the purchase of a Xeikon 3300.

This has now been supplemented by a second Xeikon 3000, which is suitable for roll widths up to 330mm and runs at a maximum speed of 19.2m/min, enabling a production capacity of almost 400 sq m per hour. It also includes a range of post-press equipment, two letter presses and several hot stamping presses.

Filip Weymans, director of segment marketing for labels and packaging at Xeikon, said: ‘Label'Or successfully switched to digital printing. The Xeikon 3300 perfectly matched the requirements that Label’Or had at the time.

‘We are very pleased that Jean-Marie and Pascal have again chosen a Xeikon press to expand their production capacity.’
