The digital-only converter, which operates five Xeikon presses, is GM’s biggest client globally with 13 existing machines before the ones bought at Labelexpo.

CS Labels will use the DC350 to laminate and coat flexible packaging produced on its Xeikon presses

GM’s DC350 line includes a new series of smart modules: Smart Turret (auto slit), Smart Die loading and a new Smart Stripping module.

SR350 is a new high-speed inspection slitter rewinder, featuring servo motion technology, auto-set knives, and a Nikka M1 inspection system option.

Simon Smith, managing director of CS Labels, said: ‘The DC350 from GM will improve our productivity. We work very closely with GM – the system’s Smart Lamp development was our suggestion and we helped them test it.’

Adam James, operations director at CS Labels, added: ‘Running at up to 80m/min, the new DC350 has improved in speed and quality. The purchase is part of our forward-planning to upgrade our existing equipment. The SR350, meanwhile, will be our first slitter rewinder with integrated 100 percent inspection, while its auto knife-box is part of the increasing automation of GM’s machines.’

Uffe Nielsen, CEO of Denmark-based GM, said: ‘The DC350 modular finishing platform is fast becoming the much-appreciated future-proof work horse for many of our clients. We are very proud of the many new options – especially the non-stop turret with cut between labels and dash board integration.’

The SR350 will be delivered directly after the show, the DC350 by the end of the year.
