Starfoil said the CF110 has been designed as a simple-to-handle, compact system for gloss offset foil transfer, and to satisfy the needs of users on a tighter budget.

This unit is especially designed for print companies who would like to offer gloss foil transfer but do not have enough corresponding jobs to work with cold foil 24/7.

The Starfoil CF110 can handle reels with up to 16,000m (52,5000ft) of cold foil, with the foil reels positioned above the printing units, making the module a ‘very practical option for smaller print companies with limited floor space’, Starfoil said.

The low tension friction shafts are of the Starfoil CF110 are servo driven, allowing exact synchronization of the foil web to the running speed of the press. When combined with modern technology for web tension control, this ensures efficient production according to Starfoil.

Offset presses fitted with the CF110 unit are equipped with a crane for handling of the full and empty reels. The remote control unit for opening and closing of the safety chucks renders an additional walkway superfluous.

Further, accessibility to the inking units is not restricted in any way.

Oirschot-based Drukkerij Hensen already operates a number of Starfoil models, with the CF110 having joined its equipment portfolio recently.
