EAL makes second Highcon Euclid investment

Edições de Angola (EAL) a third generation family business based in the African country, has ordered a second Highxon Euclid digital cutting and creasing system to cope with the volume of work its first machine has opened the business up to.

EAL installed its first Highcon Euclid at the end of 2013

EAL is a 48-year-old commercial printer, with over 200 employees, serving local and international customers with a wide range of digital finishing services, and producing labels, books, boxes, greeting cards and security jobs.

EAL produces these jobs on stock printed both conventionally and digitally.

EAL installed its first Highcon Euclid at the end of 2013, and Carlos Santos (pictured, right), EAL manager and responsible for its move into packaging said: ‘We handle a lot of short run jobs and the Highcon Euclid has opened up the market for us. We are able to be far more responsive to our customers, offering rapid turnaround and highly differentiated designs.

‘We ordered the second Euclid machine to cope with the volume of work and also because I can no longer imagine working without it.’

The new machine has been shipped to Angola for installation, and Highcon representative Paulo Monteiro (pictured, left) of Grafopel in Portugal , who sold the machine to EAL, said: ‘EAL is a perfect fit for the Highcon Euclid. It is a dynamic company with a large volume of short to medium run jobs. The Euclid has reduced its need for time-consuming and expensive outsourcing of conventional dies and has also allowed the company to extend its offering to existing customers as well as to gain new ones.’

Nigel Tracey, Highcon’s sales director for Europe, said: ‘It's exciting to see our customers really getting the most out of the machine and seeing the value it adds to their business. EAL has converted all kinds of jobs and, in fact, were one of the first customers to use the Highcon Euclid for kiss cuts when cutting decorative labels.’
