Elite expands in self-adhesive production
Elite Labels in Leicester, UK, is updating and upgrading its self-adhesive label production by taking delivery of a Gallus ECS 340 seven-color UV flexo press. The company, which is part of a global group, serves mainly the fashion industry but is expanding its labels services to new industries from cosmetics to food and drink sectors.

Elite Labels has offset, flexo, digital and rotary printing as well as weaving looms, but the self-adhesive department has been ear-marked as a particular focus for company growth over the coming two years.
‘If self-adhesive label printers haven’t heard of Elite yet, they will soon,’ says managing director Shafique Hussein. ‘The press will start on double day shifts but we hope to move to 24 hour working within three to six months and I will not be surprised if we take a second Gallus line in 2017.’
The Gallus was selected because other companies within the group have used the technology and given good reports on its performance and the service back-up.
The Elite Labels ECS 340 is configured with flexo, screen, cold foil and rotary die-cutting. It has a short web path of 1.1 meters between units and individual servo drives on each unit allowing automated presetting and register control.
