The investment follows the installation of a slitting machine at the company’s headquarters in Filderstadt, Germany, and means the UK subsidiary now operates three slitting machines which operate around the clock, five days a week. Its latest investment, totalling 500,000 GBP (729,000 USD), has a maximum speed of 800m/min, and will enable the efficient processing of large orders, as well as small batches, while providing a consistently high quality along with short set-up times.

Herma UK reported growth of 30 percent last year, and Colin Phillips, director of the Self-adhesive Materials division of Herma UK, said: ‘We are currently registering a very buoyant market, with many customers and end users demanding a next day service. Thanks to the new, versatile slitting machine, we are able to fulfill these demands.’
