Installations herald successful start to Heidelberg/Masterwork partnership

Heidelberg is using its global sales network to sell die-cutters and folder gluers produced by Masterwork and additional machines for packaging production. It is also providing service support.

In just six months, more than 10 machines, made up of Promatrix 106 CS and Easymatrix 106 CS die-cutting units, have been shipped to customers, primarily in Europe. This includes Polish packaging print shop Arka-Druk which has begun production with the world’s first Promatrix 106 CS die-cutter. The Promatrix 106 CS has a speed of 8,000sph, while the Easymatrix 106 CS runs at 7,700sph.

In the UK, the first Promatrix 106 CS was shipped at the end of July to Zenith Print & Packaging, a print shop in Treforest, north of Cardiff, where it will replace two older die-cutters. ‘We expect the new die-cutter to deliver much shorter make-ready times and greater productivity,’ said Zenith Print & Packaging managing director Ken Bell. ‘The company is also looking to harness the enhanced quality to increase its competitiveness.’

Heidelberg Poland has sold two Easymatrix 106 CS units that will be installed shortly.
