Lotus Labels makes digital investment with Xeikon press and converting line funded by HSBC

UK printer Lotus Labels has invested in Xeikon digital printing equipment in order to broaden its customer base and provide clients with a variety of packaging to suit their industry requirements.

With the digital converting investment, Lotus Labels expects to grow its turnover in 2016

Using a funding package from HSBC, totalling 200,000 GBP (around 265,000 USD), the investment includes a Xeikon 3300 digital press and a Xeikon DC330 label converting system to complement the digital press output. This provides varnishing, film lamination and die-cutting capabilities, in addition to cold foiling to apply high gloss metal print onto labels.

Lotus Labels merged with Dynamic Systems Group, a German industrial label manufacturer, in 2014. The business offers bespoke design and manufacturing of labels and packaging for a variety of clientele, including Alton Towers, Yo Sushi, Jaguar and Fenwick department stores.

With the investment, Lotus Labels expects to grow its turnover in 2016, and Andreas Shillinger, owner of Lotus Labels, said: ‘This new, highly advanced equipment means we have one of the most developed, cutting-edge factories in our sector. Not only does it help us meet the necessary requirements for our clients, it also allows us to offer a greater variety and flexibility with design and packaging.

‘We have been banking with HSBC since our company was incorporated in 1987 and value the support and funding the bank has provided.’

The financing package is part of HSBC’s commitment to SMEs in the Gatwick and East Sussex regions. Victoria Mutter, area director of business banking in Gatwick and East Sussex at HSBC, said: ‘With technology developing at such a rapid rate, Lotus Labels needed to upgrade its machinery to continue to meet its clients’ needs. Our team has worked closely with the business over the years to support its growth and development, and our latest equipment finance loan has allowed for the purchase of industry-leading technology, which will enable Lotus to remain ahead of the competition and broaden its customer base.’
