MPS enters the UAE with EF flexo press sale to Hexxa Flexible Packaging

Hexxa Flexible Packaging specializes in printing and converting of flexible packaging, mainly using gravure printing technology. Hexxa Flexible Packaging produces PVC and PET shrink sleeves, OPP labels, solventless laminates up to three layers, and a range of film required for the food, beverage and cosmetic industry. Customers include a number of reputable brands such as PepsiCo, Danone Morocco, Nestlé, Kraft, Heinz Africa & Middle East and Coca Cola Kuwait.

Hexxa Flexible Packaging has recently invested in larger premises in Ras al Khaimah. With its new MPS flexo press, the company is set to achieve higher productivity in shorter print runs, as Raja Gandhi, managing director and owner of Hexxa Flexible Packaging explained: ‘We needed a narrow web flexo press to offer more competitive prices on shorter print runs. MPS offered the highest European quality machine, proven in an impressive demonstration at their headquarters in the Netherlands. Throughout the sales consultation, the MPS representatives were very open and honest with us. This is why we chose MPS as our flexo partner.’

A full-service interactive training program for Hexxa’s press operators was included in the press purchase. New to flexo, the operators were fully trained and operating the new EF multi-substrate press in just days.

The sale is also the first made by MPS into the UAE.

Initial introductions to MPS were made by Anoop, the local MPS representative for the Middle East, at Labelexpo Europe 2015. Matthijs Stevens, MPS area sales manager, described the sale as ‘an exciting milestone for MPS’, and commented: ‘With Anoop as our local agent, MPS offers this emerging region a well-connected and extensive local service network. This is just the beginning of more growth for MPS in the Middle East.’
