Shanghai Zidan Food Packaging & Printing orders Evo XD from KBA-Flexotecnica

Zidan Food Packaging & Printing is a leading supplier of sophisticated packaging in the Chinese market and was founded in 1996 by the Zijiang Group. The company’s main products include food packaging, folding cartons, corrugated packaging, shopping bags and even packaging for toys. Internationally businesses, such as KFC, McDonald’s, Kraft, Phillips, Sony, GE and GM, are just some of its longstanding customers.

Zidan Food Packaging & Printing conducted intensive testing before selecting the KBA-Flexotecnica Evo XD, which it has ordered through KBA China. The Chinese sales and service company has previously delivered a large-format Rapida 142 sheet-fed press to Zidan Food Packaging & Printing. The company operates an extensive press fleet and added to the Rapida 142 installed in 2012 by ordering a high-tech Rapida 106 medium-format press with nine printing units and a coating unit earlier this year.

With the KBA-Flexotecnica Evo XD, Zidan Food Packaging & Printing is aiming to expand its capacities for fast-food paper packaging.

A key, and unique, feature of the KBA-Flexotecnia Evo XD is its highly efficient drying system co-developed with a team of experts from Milan University meaning the press meets the highest demands in terms of quality with a high web speed of 500m/min (1,641ft/min).

The new Evo XD is expected to come on stream at Zidan Food Packaging & Printing in the first quarter of 2016. Together with field technicians from Italy, local service staff from KBA China will be involved in the installation.
