Paragon buys first Flexor rewinder

Paragon Print and Packaging has purchased its first Flexor slitting, rewinding and inspection machine from UK agency LPP.

Paragon decided to buy the 440mm-wide Flexor 440B machine after carrying out extensive trials on LPP’s demonstration unit in Manchester.

Tests were carried out on standard self-adhesive label stock and a selection of more difficult and demanding substrates using actual production jobs.

LPP managing director Les Bradley (pictured, standing left with Flexor international sales director Adam Robak) said: ‘Paragon loaded up one of its vans with various jobs, materials and operators who spent two days putting the machine through its paces.

‘Paragon wanted a machine that had both razor blade and scissor slitting units to give them flexibility and allow it to handle the range of materials it produces every day.

‘As all the Flexor Range is designed and built using full servo drive and tension control technology, the more difficult substrates and narrow slitting where handled to the complete satisfaction of the operators and the production team who made the recommendation back to the management of Paragon Print and Packaging.

‘We are looking forward to continuing our long relationship with Paragon especially as the Flexor equipment has been accepted as one of its production machines.’
